On the 28th of September I flew from Oslo to Longyearbyen, the most northern city in the world.
On that day the sun rose at 07:08 and set at 18.25.
On the day we set sail on the beautiful Antigua, nautical dawn was at 03:29, the sun rose at 07:30 and set over the ocean at 18:01, nautical dusk was at 22:01.
On the day Antigua docked in Longyearbyen, after an epic 15 days voyage, the sun rose at 09:21 and set at 16:01.
Arctic twilight during both Nautical Dawn and Nautical Dusk was a long and mystical time.
Arctic twilight was the reason I journeyed north.
The colours and the sublime crystal clear energy at those times, were more wonderful than I hoped they would be.

8 Nights of Arctic dreams, 9 days of ocean sea legs, since I flew south from Longyearbyen.
Each morning as consciousness is dawning in China, I find myself smiling as the sensation of floating flows throughout my body, as if my bed on the 22nd Floor, is resting on an ice berg and I sense turquoise water lapping all around me.
Then I realise, there is traffic outside, vibrating roads, honking horns and flashing lights…the transition from the Arctic North to inland China is otherworldly. My body is here, my head and brain are somewhere splattered in the sky and my spirit is still dancing with the polar bears, swimming with the green northern light Whales in the dark, absorbing the last moments of twilight, in the most hostile and alluring environment.
