Georgia Rose Murray’s paintings depict her fascination with the sublime effects of light and darkness on the natural landscape. Her holistic processes are guided by conscious and subconscious observations and by a visceral awareness of the mystical; the works explore our human existence on Earth in connection with the spirit world.
Awe-inspiring plein-air experiences create the baseline for innovative experimentations with paint; a significant winter residency to Iceland, alongside additional research made in Northern Scotland were fundamental to the creation of ‘Libra’.
Murray’s time is divided between painting and working as a Painting Lecturer at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design.
