Spending time in Glen Affric is always balm for the soul and it was amazing to be invited to facilitate a painting workshop right in the heart of the Glen. With floor to ceiling glass over looking the loch, snow dusted mountains and powerful Pine trees, the studio was idyllic!
I led the group to respond to the incredible environment using feather and ink. The brief was to be expressive, fluid and non judgemental.
The next task was to mix unique colours using powdered pigments and a water-based glaze. I gave a demonstration and the painters got to work creating their own spectrums, which led on to becoming landscapes on canvas, inspired by the atmospheric, wintry scene beyond the window.
