WINDOW WONDERLAND- AN EXHIBITION HOSTED BY FINDHORN BAY ARTS AS PART OF THE 2024 FESTIVAL HAPPENING IN FORRES
Thank you to Findhorn Bay Arts, who commissioned me to create a window design for their 2024 festival exhibition on Forres high street. The window was created by tearing an Arctic landscape out of coloured tissue paper and sticking the mountain, fjord and sky pieces to a window sized piece of tracing paper, using glue. The flock of geese was carefully cut out of black tissue paper using nail scissors and the Polar Bear was painted using black Indian Ink. The landscape is a depiction of the environment outside the Jean Corbel Research Station, near Ny Alesund, the northernmost research base on Earth and the closest settlement to the North Pole. The exhibition provided a lovely opportunity to bring a piece of Svalbard down to the town of Forres, and see that extremely northern location illuminated in the Murray Travel agents window.
