ARTS PLENARY at ASSW24

On the 25th of March 2024 THE ARTS PLENARY took place at ARCTIC SCIENCE SUMMIT WEEK. The day involved a schedule of exciting performances and presentations in amongst several multi-media exhibitions which all reflected on, or responded to, the Arctic.

At 14.00 I gave a presentation about my Arctic research journey, which began in 2015. Since then I have travelled north specifically to witness each Arctic season and have been incredibly lucky to stay at scientific stations in remote, relatively wild locations.

It is a privilege to work alongside expert Scientists and it is significant to the work I make. Having time to communicate about all things Polar (geology, biology, climate change, air quality, flora and fauna), alongside the practice of painting (and the challenges of painting in Polar locations), is fascinating.

Thank you to Jacob Forsyth-Davies (official ASSW24 photographer) for the following images.
