NEW PAINTINGS FLYING TO NYC

Ceres Gallery’s 40th Anniversary Exhibition will open on the 11th of January 2024

Virus Polaris, Oil, Gloss, Pigment on Board, 2023

“Virus Polaris was created in response to the incredible polar colours which Georgia witnessed erupting in the landscape during a research expedition to Ny AlesunD, where she worked alongside polar scientists during a period of sunrise. Investigating and responding to Arctic colour, light and darkness, is at the centre of Georgia Rose Murray’s work. Her expressive, painterly application of mediums, and the symbolic compositions she creates, hint at how the landscape and atmosphere are shifting due to climate change.”

EXHIBITION INFO- Published on ISSUU. Ceres Gallery is a feminist, not-for-profit, alternative gallery space located in the gallery-rich Chelsea neighborhood of NYC. Ceres is dedicated to the promotion of contemporary women in the arts and the remediation of women’s under-representation in the larger art world. The gallery provides an exhibition space that enhances public awareness by showing a diversity of artistic and world views. Through their progressive programming, Ceres has encouraged not only visual artists but writers, musicians, dancers, poets and storytellers to perform and take risks with their work that might not be possible in a commercial setting. The artists of Ceres believe they perform an important social service – that art has the power to educate, enhance and enrich the quality and depth of people’s lives.
